On 11th July 2011, the Immigration Advisory Service (IAS),
the largest provider of publically funded immigration
and asylum legal advice, advised today that it had
been placed into administration. The IAS, a registered
charity, has been in existence for 35 years, and
employs 300 staff at 14 locations across England and
Scotland. It is renowned for a large number of
important legal precedent cases which have been taken
through the Courts, including to the Court of Justice
of the European Union and the European Court of Human
Rights.
Many of IAS’s clients
will now sadly be without legal representation at a
crucial time. In order to assist, Greenfields
Solicitors are able to provide 15 minutes free advice
to all IAS clients in order to advise on how to find
alternative representation, ideally with a legal aid
firm, how to adjourn cases and general legal advice.
Please contact us on 020 8884 1166 for an appointment.
Please note Greenfields Solicitors itself does not
undertake legal aid work but we can help clients on a
cost-effective fixed, fee basis.
